LITTLE PASS FILMS

Little Pass Films makes in depth documentaries that examine unique people and places.  Access is key to in depth understanding of the places and people who's stories we tell.

 

We are currently filming in California and expect to complete our current project in 2020.  We will be releasing more information as we near completion.

OMO CHILD: THE RIVER AND THE BUSH

Omo Child: The River and the Bush was our first full length documentary which made its world premiere at the Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival in early 2015 and subsequently won Best Documentary.  The film went on to garner a lot of attention, eventually winning  27 awards (out of 41 Official Selections) ranging from Best Documentary, Best Cinematography and Best Original Music Score. The film finished in the top 10 audience favorites vote at HotDocs that year.  Acquired by Journeyman Films, it was then distributed world wide and played on PBS stations across the United States.

Matthew Looney

Matthew Looney is a video editor with experience in linear and multi-cam settings. His resume includes short films, documentaries, live concerts and music videos; some of which have been screened at film festivals nationwide. His portfolio can be found on vimeo.

John Rowe
Director / Producer

Award winning photographer and filmmaker John Rowe has spent over two decades documenting people and cultures worldwide, including in Southeast Asia, India, Mongolia, China, Japan, Cuba and Africa. 

 

Rowe also directed and produced the acclaimed full-length documentary film Omo Child: The River and the Bush which has won twenty-five festival awards, been featured on PBS, and been instrumental in creating a profound cultural shift through powerful compelling real life stories.

​

In 2014 Rowe was honored for his Humanitarian work in Ethiopia’s Omo Valley by The Explorers Club with the prestigious Lowell Thomas Award. He is a guest lecturer and Honorary Professor for audio visual arts at ISA, The Fine Arts University in Havana.

Tyler Rowe
Cinematographer / Drone

Tyler Rowe is a graduate of Chapman Film School (Cinematography Major) and is an FAA licensed Drone Operator. He was  the Director of Photography on the Award winning documentary Omo Child: The River and the Bush which multiple awards for Cinematography.

Sebastian Humphreys
Cinematographer / Drone / Sound

Sebastian Humphreys has been a photographer and cinematographer for over 20 years.  He was the cinematographer and sound operator on the award winning documentary Omo Child: The River and the Bush as well as numerous small projects for Little Pass Films.  Before joining Little Pass he pourdly served for 5 years in 1st Marine Division Combat Camera.
