World renowned photographer Steve McCurry joined John Rowe and the Omo Child team in order to help raise awareness on behalf of Omo Child and the practice of Mingi in tribal Ethiopia. John and Steve sit down next to the Omo River and discuss photography, the people of the Omo Valley and how photography can positively impact the world. To learn more about Mingi, Omo Child, and how you can help please visit www.omochild.org Omo Child’s Mission is to stop Mingi, the ritualistic killing of infants and children, and to provide education and a safe, nurturing shelter for rescued children in the Omo River Valley of Southwest Ethiopia. These children will be future leaders in their tribes and communities. Our immediate goal is to raise money to care for our 37 children. Operating our shelter is costly and is dependant on supporters just like you.

A Morning with Diana Kennedy
Little Pass Films had the honor of spending a morning with world renowned chef, author, and environmentalist Diana Kennedy in her kitchen in Zitácuaro, Mexico. Known as a "culinary anthropologist" she was the preeminent English-language authority on Mexican cuisine. Kennedy was known for her nine books on the subject, including The Cuisines of Mexico, which changed how the world viewed Mexican cuisine. Her cookbooks are based on her fifty years of traveling in Mexico, interviewing and learning from several types of cooks from virtually every region of the nation.

Omo Child: The River and the Bush is a documentary film which tells the amazing true story of a young man’s journey to end the ancient practice known as Mingi in the Omo Valley, Ethiopia. Mingi means curse and any child who is thought to be Mingi must be killed according to ancient cultural traditions. Lale Labuko, from the Kara tribe, was convinced that no curse existed and he set out to change his tribe and the Omo Valley and in doing so lifting a burden from the shoulder’s of the Kara people.
